The Guadiana and Atlântico courses are the most mature of the three courses, with fairways surrounded by an alignment of graceful pine trees. The courses teem with wildlife, especially partridges in the winter months. The courses are characterized by fast and true greens, many of them in elevated areas and protected by bunkers, inviting to high tees and fairways that take doglegs carved into slopes. The Grouse is the latest of the nine-hole courses with the most far-reaching views of the inland mountains. It features a sloping terrain with fewer trees than the other two fields. The course teems with wildlife, including wild boars, birds and rabbits. Some lucky players have even spotted the elusive Iberian lynx at Grouse Field during dawn workouts.
