Domburgsche Golf Club

Domburg, Zeeland, Nederland

The Domburgsche Golf Course was designed by golf professional E.C. Warren and was put into use in 1914. The current course is still in the same place and is therefore one of the oldest in the Netherlands. During the Second World War, the course, on which the Germans had built bunkers and anti-aircraft guns, was bombed by the Allies in 1944. The bomb craters are clearly visible from the air. These have been integrated into the design of the course and are often used as grass bunkers. The course was reopened in 1955. The location in the dunes with a view of the sea makes the Domburgsche a real "links" course. Wind and rough often make for a challenging round.
