Golfclub Issum-Niederrhein

Issum, Kleve, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

In Issum, play is done year-round (with a few exceptions). What was once an "insider tip" has now become a course that many golfers in the Lower Rhine region must play (more than) once a year. Issum is a course with two faces: Accurate play is rewarded with good scores, while on less favorable days, the desire to swap the 3-iron in the bag for a saw grows with each hole. On the first nine holes (par 35), long par 4s (1 and 8), a relatively narrow par 5 (6), and more trees than golfers would like (4 and 9) provide the greatest challenges. Those who have mastered the challenging par 3 on hole 10 on the second nine can look forward to three short par 4 holes. Unusually, from hole 14 onwards there are no more par-4 holes – three par-5 holes (14, 15 and 18) and two par-3 holes (16, 17) complete the round back to the clubhouse.
