Perranporth Golf Club

Breathtaking James Braid links overlooking the beach and Atlantic, Perranporth is full of twists, turns and quirks so if you haven’t played it before make sure you do plenty of research otherwise you’re likely to come badly unstuck. Expect the unexpected here: you’re regularly required to smash ‘blind’ drives – usually over enormous sand dunes slap bang in front of you. Aim for the marker posts on top of them, trust your swing...and hope for the best. Memorable holes come thick and fast and it’s extremely unlikely you’ll ever face a more demanding par-3 than Perranporth’s absolutely awesome 197-yards 4th, the green perilously sitting on a narrow ledge amidst the dunes. There are also some sensational views to drink in, notably those from the 5th and 14th, but beware you can’t afford to get distracted for a single second.
